So I went to a group meeting this week and the topic for discussion was Trans health. We discussed the old standards of care vs the new standards of care when it comes to being diagnosed with GID (Now simply Gender Dysphoria), and seeking hormone treatment.
Here are a few links that I was emailed in regards to this topic.:
***I WOULD DEFINITELY READ PGS 180 THROUGH 192 IN THE WPATH:
Especially if you are not sure if your Dr. is handling your care properly/asking you for information that is not required by the WPATH (Expecting you to provide proof of living as your gender). This is likely an indication that they
1. do not know the standards for care for trans patients
2. are uncomfortable/not qualified to provide services to trans patients
3. are looking for extra steps to cover their own asses so they can’t be sued (which if they just adhere to WPATH they cannot be sued)…
